NHCCM Summer BBQ

The July meeting of the NHCCM was held in Bedford which was well attended by many PEG station representatives. Those in attendance had the opportunity to hear from Steve Israelsky of Tightrope Media Services, and from Kevin Long of Access A/V. Steve gave a presentation with an overview of TRMS’ Cablecast and Carousel systems which many in the room were already owners of. However, it doesn’t matter how many of these presentations I go to, I always seem to walk out with something that I hadn’t known, or forgot I had known. Also, with your station’s needs changing as you grow, it is good to be reminded about what you have already and how you can use it today.

City of Rochester Gov't Channel Update
I keep hoping to report of our new Franchise agreement with Metrocast, but, at the time of this writing, the final, final details are not quite finalized, so I cannot really give any details... but, I guess I could say, from comparing to what others have, it is a pretty good one. A lot of it focuses on our fiber infrastructure that will be very helpful to our IT department. Hopefully a grant will upgrade some of our equipment. How is that for a general statement? And even though we have lost Metrocast staff in operating cameras for some of our government meetings, we will soon have some funding in place to support our volunteer camera operators.Discuss Topic (0) Discuss This Article
