ConcordTV Hosts  2010  Video Festival in the Capital City

Concord Community TV is pleased to announce that it is the officialhost of this year's ACM-NE Video Festival, which will be held on Saturday, November 13, at the Holiday Inn on Main Street in Concord, New Hampshire. Details are still in the works, but save the date and plan to submit lots of entries from your station.  We hope you'll pass the word on to your volunteers, producers and board members too, since this will be a golden opportunity to attend workshops in the afternoon that are geared specifically to them, and to be part of the awards presentation in the evening.  And since the Festival is funded mostly by entry fees, the evening celebration is free, and workshops are only $10 each

As always, the NHCCM membership will be playing a supportive role to the ConcordTV staff in producing the Video Festival.  This will be a great day for New Hampshire Access Centers, and a wonderful opportunity to network with our friends in community television throughout the Northeast and to show our support of the ACM-NE.

Local Access on the Internet

by Bob O'Connor, Littleton Area Television

Our move to add internet access (Leightronix Nexus) for Channel 2 has proved to be very successful.  This now allows those community members off the local cable system, which is a third of our population, to enjoy Channel 2.  Many community members like the idea that they can choose the time to view programs, especially later in the evening.  Citizens who are now living away from the Littleton area or wintering in warmer climates now keep up with local happenings.  The ability to choose which sections of a program to view (especially long municipal board meetings) has been well received.  An intersting, we have ten foreign exchange students at our high school and just discovered that their parents keep abreast of what is happening at Littleton High School by accessing our programs on the internet.  The increased viewership which is now available on-line has made Channel 2 even more popular, which is vital in maintaining local support for comunity based television.

NH Brings Home the Gold

There was no shortage of applause when five New Hampshire PEG Centers came up to accept their awards at the Fall ACM-NE Video Festival. Sharing the spotlight were Bedford, Derry, Londonderry, Manchester and Merrimack. Congratulations to all of them!

How is the NHCCM Working for Your Station?

by Dick Gagnon

One of the ways the NHCCM is working for each of your stations is by organizing, training, and supervising, indivuals to record, edit, and distribute the State of NH House Sessions beginning in January.  We hopefully will also be doing the same for the Senate sessions.  The Board of the NHCCM decided some months ago that we need to make sure that PEG Access is well known,m and well liked, at the State House.  The Legislation Committee has met with State Representative Raymond Gagnon, of Claremont, to see how we can work with him to inform the legislators about the importance of protecting PEG Access in our state.

Trip'n To ACM-NE Video Festival

West Harford, Ct is strange in that unless you are a native of there it is almost impossible for the average visitor to find places due to hidden signs.  The Video Frstival is another matter--it was a hoot.  Ryan and P-e-t-e-r-spent a plethoria of hours preparing for the festival in that we (with others) had to judge the two best in show productions and also prepare all the video snippets and viewing room clips for the event.  The West Hartford gang did a superb job of preparing for the event and making our job easy for the Awards Night.
