WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR !!!!

If you haven't registered for the Alliance for Community Media International Conference and Exhibition, you should register today! Don't miss out on this annual gathering that brings together community media advocates from across the country. Go to www.alliancecm.org and register today!

Conference Schedule Highlights!

Wednesday, July 7 - Eight pre-conference seminars that provide in-depth training on Citizen Journalism, Final Cut Pro, Social Media, Broadband Networks, Fundraising, and creating Boards that Work.

Thursday, July 8 - Saturday July 10

Opening Keynote and Leadership Awards - Sacha Meinrath, Director, Open Technology Initiative New America Foundation, sets the tone for our conference with his keynote presentation.  Then we honor outstanding leaders  in our organization and the community media movement as the Alliance presents the  2010 Leadership Awards:  The Jewell Ryan-White Award for Cultural Diversity; the Buske Leadership Aware;  and the Dirk Koning-George Stoney Award for Humanistic Communication.

Workshops - Attend any of the 30 workshops in six areas of interest :  Citizen Journalism; CMC Management, Human Resource and Board Development; Fundraising and Collaboration; Engineering, Broadband Network Management and Related Issues; Media and Telecom Policy; Community Engagement, Training, and Marketing/Outreach.

Networking - There are opportunities galore for networking and sharing.  Schedule an impromptu gathering in the Open Space Sessions.  Share a cup of coffee with colleagues.  Or, just find a comfy chair in the lobby to catch up with other attendees.

Vendor Exhibits - The Exhibition Hall houses vendor booths with the latest in community media technology, programming, and services.

Did I mention - Pittsburgh is a GREAT city!
Formerly home of our domestic steel industry, Pittsburg is now a 21st century high-tech city. Come for the conference, stay for a vacation. There is LOTS to see and do in the city and surround region! You can get some great ideas on planning your pre/post conference stay at http://www.visitpittsburgh.com. We'll feature some ideas in future notices.

So, if you haven't registered yet... what ARE you waiting for!  http://www.alliancecm.org

See you in Pittsburgh!

Deborah S. Vinsel, Co-chair
Alliance Conference Planning Committee
