Londonderry Leader in PEG TV Honored PDF E-mail

On Tuesday, October 20th, Dottie Grover, Director of Cable Services of Londonderry’s PEG (Public, Education and Government) TV Access Center since 1988, and President of the New Hampshire Coalition for Community Media (NHCCM), received the organization’s first Outstanding Leadership Award at a gathering of its members, which was held at the Local Government Center in Concord.

William Jennings, NHCCM board member and director of Bedford Community Television, presented the award. Jennings says, “Dottie Grover has been involved in New Hampshire Public Access Television since the mid 80’s. In that time she has inspired and educated many communities in the state on the importance of public access and the value it can bring to their cities and towns.”

It was Grover’s belief that, for PEG Access TV to succeed in New Hampshire, community station directors and managers should come together to share ideas on a monthly basis to help make active community stations better and to educate communities that needed assistance starting their own PEG stations. From those meetings, which started about 12 years ago, the NHCCM was formed, and today more than 30 towns and cities belong to the organization, and all grow stronger as a result of Grover’s vision and leadership.

In her honor, the NHCCM Dottie Grover Leadership Award will be awarded each year to a member of the organization that exemplifies Grover’s leadership and dedication to Community Access Television in New Hampshire.
