The July meeting of the NHCCM was held in Bedford which was well attended by many PEG station representatives. Those in attendance had the opportunity to hear from Steve Israelsky of Tightrope Media Services, and from Kevin Long of Access A/V. Steve gave a presentation with an overview of TRMS’ Cablecast and Carousel systems which many in the room were already owners of. However, it doesn’t matter how many of these presentations I go to, I always seem to walk out with something that I hadn’t known, or forgot I had known. Also, with your station’s needs changing as you grow, it is good to be reminded about what you have already and how you can use it today.
Following TRMS was Kevin Long from Access A/V in Concord giving an overview of Nexus/Leightronics version of their digital playback systems. I believe Kevin mentioned that he has installed over 90 of these systems and is very well versed in using them and maintaining them. Both systems have their pros and cons and everyone makes their decisions based on diff erent things. But, I don’t believe there was anyone in the room who is presently using a digital playback system that would say they are sorry they have one. It makes life so much simpler in my opinion.
The meeting ended and those who could spare the extra time traveled to Bill Jenning’s house for a very good BBQ of hamburger, hot dogs, and steak. Accompanying the meal was a really great tasting crock pot of beans. Everyone who tried them really loved them. I can tell you that at our event that involves dinner it will be a requirement that the beans are there. Kudos to Jim MacIntosh for making and bringing them. Many of the attendees brought various items of food to share and no one left that night hungry. Especially after a piece of delicious cake brought from the Derry group. Enough of the food. As good as that was it was the sharing that went on in the screened in porch, kitchen and out on the patio. Everyone was relaxed and talking about all kinds of things. It really was more than members sharing, it was friends sharing. I’m looking forward to the Christmas Party. Or how about a Thanksgiving party, and then the Christmas party. You can tell I like parties, and food. I hope we’ll see you at the next NHCCM meeting in September. (0) Discuss This Article |
